“what gets us in to trouble is not what we don’t know ,its what we know for sure that just ain’t so”
Usually what happens is Solar radiation in form of light waves passes thru atmosphere, most of these are absorbed by earth, and this warms earth, some of these radiation is reflected back in to space in form of Infra red( IR ) waves, some of out going IR radiation is trapped by atmosphere, this warms earth again .
What leads to Global warming:
Increased Co2 due to various causes, leads to thickening of atmosphere causes more of out going IR trap -->more warm trapped -->Global warming.
We are witnessing a collision between our civilization and earth’s eco system.
Factors that causing this collision.
Population- (in 1945 it was 2.3 billion, in 2008- 6,706,993,152)it took 10,000 yrs to reach 2.3 billion but in one Human life time it went beyond 6 billion. This leads to increase in demand of food & Water supply, demand on vulnerable natural sources E.g.-devastating of forest.( 30% of Co2 comes from forest burning ).
Increase in usage of products, technologies which causes more Emission of Co2.( carbon emission per Person is high in USA, when compared with other developed & Developing countries)
Ozone layer depletion-due to increase level of fluorocarbons.
Acid deposition, dust & sans storms.due to excess combustion of fossil fuel there is increase sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide in Oxygen r& rain water.
Marine pollution.by means of toxic pollutant like Poly-aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) a toxic pollutant ,typically come from oil pollution and burning wood and coal.
Marine garbage disposal is another major form of ocean pollution includes junked out fishing nets, plastics, general household garbage, sewage disposal in marine. Other sources like farmland (fertilizers, manure), industrial runoff (heavy metals, phosphorous), urban runoff (oils, salts, various chemicals)
Contribution to global warming- USA-30.3%,Europe-27% Developing countries-20% ,
