Effects of global warming:
Lets see the effect of Global warming ,Global warming not only causes glacier melting due its paradoxical effect it also sucks moist from earth.
A. glacier melting;
· Kilimanjaro lost more than 50% from 1970 to 2008.
· Grinnell glacier (Atlanta), lost > 70 from1910 to1998.
· Columbia glacier (Alaska) lost >60 from 1980 to 2006.
· Glacier AXO10 (Nepal) from 1978 to 2004 lost its 45%.
Glaciers are the drinking source of water for > 40% of world population (by means of springs, rivers etc)if glaciers melts in this rate then in next 50 yrs, these 40% population are gonna face shortage of drinking water.
B.sea ice melting;
In Antarctica the largest ice shell “Larsen” has completely broke down between Jan 31st to march 05 of 2002. Artic also facing similar consequences.( studies shows that polar bear are loosing life in search of finding ice to land in spite of swimming More than 60 miles)
Sea ice extend has dropped by 1.5 million km2 since 1970,( in next 50- 70 yrs it will be completely gone) This causes increase in sea water level, leading to flood

C. Suction of moisture from earth; Leads to increase in temperature and draught. Lake Chad once largest in world now its no more persist.
Relation between Temperature and Co2:
In past thousands of yrs Co2 level never went beyond 300(ppmv),but in 2008 ,It was 400 in2008( ppmv) in next 50 yrs its gonna be double.
ð When there is more Co2 presence it increases temperature by thickening of atmosphere, trapping more heat from sun inside the atmosphere.
ð Ten hottest yrs on record ever measured occurred in last 14 yrs as on 2005( 1991, 1995,1997,1998,1999,2001-2005)
ð If 1 degree F increased in equator it results in rise of 12 degree F in poles. In 2003 heat wave resulted in 35,000 deaths in Europe. In India June 2003 Andhra recorded 50 degree C. In USA more consecutive days of high temperature were recorded.
Facts we are facing:
These changes also shifts the seasons, for eg in Netherlands in 1980 bird migration occurred during end of April and egg hatches during June 1st wk( when caterpillar comes out)But after 2000, caterpillar hatches 2 wks earlier around mid may,Chicks tries to hatch during may end, but with little success of survival. In USA western pine Beatle around 4 million acre were destroyed. We are loosing more species as fast as ever.
New diseases around 30 emerged in past 25 yrs Few eg- Ebola, Arena, Honta virus, Pulmonary syndrome,SARS, multi drug resistant TB.
Re-emergence of disease once were controlled-Avian flu, west Nile fever,
What will happen if we don’t act now?
ð When north Antarctica melts, worldwide sea level will rise up to 25 ft.
ð If half of Greenland n north Antarctica melts, then we have redraw the world map, yes
Florida will shrink to 50%
San Francisco will loose 20%
Nether land >35%
Shangai>40%
Beijing >20%
Calcutta n east Bangladesh >35%
